Rev. Anne Smith penned some meditations following a trip to the Taizé community in
France. Wait for the Lord is a more ambitious work, involving both vocal and instrumental
solos as well as part-singing and playing.
The Taizé community is made of brothers of all nationalities and faith backgrounds.
Their community is equally open for all to share in their common faith in God and
Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. They use repetition within their “chants” as a
means to focus on simple words which reveal a deep and mysterious God.
This work captures this essence of revelation through meditation and focus.
Wait for the Lord
Based on reflections from Taizé and set to music by Janet. Male and female solos and 4-part chorus. Piano accompaniment and one solo instrument at the very least!
